Who is Ronell Reeder? New Orleans Double Homicide Suspect Arrested for Murders of Father and Son

Ronell Reeder, 21, has been arrested for the murder of a father-son duo in New Orleans.

Two men were shot and killed on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

The deceased were identified as a father-son duo, 71-year-old Douglas Patterson and his son, 21-year-old Dalton Reeder.

Sixth District officers responded to reports of gunfire early Thursday in the 4000 block of Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, near S. Broad Street.

Upon arrival, they found two adult deceased males.

While the NOPD was still investigating, 21-year-old Ronell Reeder arrived at the police station to turn himself in while investigators were on the scene.

He was taken into custody for questioning and subsequently booked on two counts of second-degree murder.

NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said Reeder has ties to the address and that the shooting was not random.
