Who was Erika Painter? Centerville Woman Found Dead in Murder-Suicide

Erika Painter was a Centerville, Indiana woman who was found shot and killed in a murder-suicide.

Wayne County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the 1st block of Farlow Road on Monday for a welfare check.

They found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds- Dustin Creech, 38, of Richmond, IN, and Erika Painter, 30, of Centerville, IN.

Painter was declared dead on the scene while Creech was transported by ambulance to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Sheriff Randy Retter stated, “We believe this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of the victims during this difficult time.”

While the investigation is ongoing, authorities are investigating the case as a murder-suicide.

Deputies heard two shots go off as they approached the scene, indicating the incident had just concluded.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
