Who were Olin and Kerilyn Johnson? Utah Couple Dead in Murder-Suicide

A Utah couple found dead of gunshot wounds in their home died via murder-suicide, American Fork Police have said.

The two individuals, Olin Johnson, 57, and his wife, Kerilyn Johnson, 52, were found deceased in their home in the area of 1400 North and 80 East around 1 p.m. Thursday.

The couple leaves behind six children, according to a GoFundMe created for the kids.

Investigators say Olin fatally shot his wife before shooting himself.

“At this point, the family is requesting privacy as they grieve their loss. We express our most profound and sincere condolences to the family and friends of Olin and Kerilyn,” the American Fork Police Department said in a statement.

The fundraiser, which is to help the upkeep of the kids who are suddenly left orphaned, read: “With the sudden passing of Olin and Kerilyn Lowe Johnson many are devastated and desire to show love and support to their six children as they navigate this tragedy. It is hoped that they would not need to shoulder the financial burden of paying for funeral expenses and other unexpected costs over the coming weeks and months.

“The love many have for this family is immense. The Johnsons and Lowes need space to grieve, let’s rally support for them through this Go Fund Me. All donations given here will go directly to the Johnson children for any expenses surrounding the passing of their parents,”

It has currently raised circa $6,000 out of a stated goal of $20,000.
