A Department of Transportation worker, 26-year-old Andrew DiDomenico of Meriden has been killed after being struck by a car while working on I-91 in Wallingford.
DiDomenico was working on the shoulder of the ramp on the southbound Exit 13 Wharton Brook Connector around 9 a.m. when an intoxicated driver struck and killed him.
The driver traveled on the exit 13 on ramp left the travel portion of the roadway and struck DiDomenico.
Denise Lucibello, 56, was arrested after she failed a sobriety test.
She faces charges of illegal operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license, driving under the influence, failure to maintain proper lane, failure to slow down and move over, and misconduct with a motor vehicle.
She’s being held on a $1,000,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at New Haven Superior Court on Monday.
The Connecticut State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is investigating the crash.
